Biography
Dr Kingsley Marshall is Head of the CILECT and ScreenSkills accredited School of Film and Television, based within Falmouth University, UK. The department consists of over 40 staff working with over 700 undergraduate students across four degrees, supplemented by a thriving postgraduate community studying from MA level through to PhD, delivered online and on campus. He has published widely, and is a specialist in emergent technology film and television production, film and television music, ecosophical filmmaking practice, and the use and representation of technology on screen. Kingsley is currently working as the principal investigator at Falmouth University, alongside filmmakers Dr Rachael Jones and Scott Barley, for the Innovate UK £1.04m funded R&D project Charismatic, partnered with CharismaAI, UAL’s Creative Computing Institute, Channel 4, and Aardman, exploring the use of AI in the creative industries. As the RKE lead for Screen Practice: Research and the Development Lead and a Producer in the Sound/Image Cinema Lab, a research and film production centre at Falmouth University, Kingsley is involved in short and feature film production with partners including Bosena, Film4, BFI, o-region, Early Day Films, BBC Films, and Storm Force Films. He runs the production company Myskatonic, producing music videos, short and feature films, and projects for television.
