Dr Jack McGowan

Dr Jack McGowan is a writer and researcher who specialises in creative writing that exists ‘off the page’, with an emphasis on performance poetics, digital media, and interactive narratives. In 2021 he co-edited Spoken Word in the UK, a landmark collection of critical essays on contemporary UK spoken word, and he is a founding member of The Contemporary Literary Cultures Research Group (CLiC). His work has been published in several anthologies, and his debut pamphlet Powerless Rangers was published by V. Press in 2022. Jack is currently a Principal Lecturer in Creative Writing and Joint Head of the Department of English, Media and Culture at the University of Worcester.
