Agnieszka Przybyszewska

Biography

Agnieszka Przybyszewska is Assistant professor at the University of Łódź in Poland, based in Bath as a visiting fellow at Bath Spa University where she is conducting research on electronic literature as part of the Bekker Programme of Polish National Agency For Academic Exchange.

She was a co-author of a programme of Creative Writing studies at the University of Lodz in Poland, where she also used to teach academic courses on modern unconventional and innovative forms of print and digital literature. She coordinated students’ artistic projects of non-classic forms of literature (e.g. book-bound and electronic playable interactive books, concrete poetry installations in public space or locative narratives in form of mobile apps).

Her research is focused on modern evolution in concept of the book, the act of reading and literature itself, and includes diverse forms of textual materialism, especially in its relation to electronic literature. Recently she focuses mostly on haptic and corporeal aspects of reading. Agnieszka has a background in literary and movie & media studies and holds a PhD in literature. She is an author of an extensive monograph on liberature and liberacy as well as of several dozens articles on emerging forms of storytelling and literary publications (e.g. text using dynamic typography, playable literature, AR books or locative narratives) in peer-reviewed journals and collective academic publications (in Polish, English and Spanish).
